Learn to Race – Ridge Rippers Racing

Ridge Rippers Racing is an eight week program on Saturday mornings, designed to for kids 6 to 14-years-old who like going fast. Certified coaches guide participants through a progression of drills designed to safely introduce and develop ski-racing skills.

The program introduces the fundamentals of ski racing and gate training with a focus on developing a solid skiing foundation. Our season culminates with two timed races where participants demonstrate the skills learned and compete with others in the program. At the end of this program, participants receive Certificates of Completion and receive an assessment of readiness to transition to the Powder Ridge Race Team from their coaches.

The program will meet from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays in January and February, except Feb. 15.

All participants must be able to load, ride and unload the chairlift independently and must be able to ski all of Powder Ridge’s Trails comfortably. Helmets are required, but racing skis and racing suits are not required.
