Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort Coach In Training

This internship-like program will give you practical experience that will help you get a job in a variety of fields. Ideal for anyone considering a career involving interaction with people. No Mountain Biking Experience is required (We are very skilled at teaching riding). If you are an outgoing individual, eager to learn about teaching and mountain biking, this program is for you.
You must be 15 years old by July 1, 2026, but not 16.
If you are 15 years old with an interest in becoming a coach, enjoy working with children and have an outgoing personality, the C.i.T. program will give you a jumpstart to getting that first job.
Learn the fundamentals of teaching and coaching specifically applied to biking, gain hands-on experience assisting experienced instructors with actual lessons, and improve your own riding. Gain experience communicating with supervisors, peers, the public, parents, and children. Develop time management and conflict resolution strategies that will help you no matter what you choose to do. An added benefit to participating in this program is that all these hours can be counted as community service hours which many high schools require prior to graduation.
Using the most cutting-edge instruction in the industry, you will develop your own riding as well as the ability to teach groups of all ages. As part of the program CiTs will spend time in the rental shop assisting our skilled technicians with repairs and bike maintenance. You will also assist our trail crew with trail building and maintenance.
At the end of the training, you will receive an individual evaluation of your potential as a mountain bike instructor. Qualified participants will be invited to join the Powder Ridge Training Center when they turn 16.
Enrollment in the training is limited. Participants must submit a completed application by the program deadline. Selection will be based on the strength of your application, your references, and your performance in an interview with one of the coaches. The CiT program cost is $395, payable after acceptance into the program and includes a Powder Ridge Season Pass. CiTs must have their own gear. Powder Ridge offers rental bikes and gear for participants.
