About Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort

Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort is Connecticut’s only four-season, lift-served outdoor adventure resort. Located at 99 Powder Hill Road in Middlefield, CT — just 30 minutes from Hartford and 40 minutes from New Haven — the resort has been a Connecticut landmark since 1959, reopening under new ownership in 2014.

The mountain features 255 acres, a 417-foot vertical drop, 19 ski and snowboard trails (42% beginner, 37% intermediate, 21% advanced), and 80 skiable acres with snowmaking on 68 of them. Night skiing is available on 40 acres, served by 6 lifts. Powder Ridge is the only resort in Connecticut with lift-served mountain biking, offering 22 trails open spring through fall.

Year-round activities include skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, lift-served mountain biking, zip lines, water slides, paintball, disc golf, summer camp, and a full concert and events calendar. Helmets are mandatory for all skiers and riders — a policy unique among Connecticut ski areas.
